About the Poets:
Lynne McEniry, MFA, is the author of the poetry collection, "some other wet landscape" published by Get Fresh Books, LLC, and her poems have been recognized for a Pushcart Prize and for second prize and honorable mention for the Allen Ginsberg Poetry Award. They have been widely published in journals and have been used in collaboration with other creative arts projects. Lynne shares her time as an editor and program collaborator on projects with ARTS By The People, for whom she also hosts a monthly reading series, The Platform. She screens and edits manuscripts and individual poems for various journals, presses, and individual poets. Born in Yonkers, NY, Lynne lives in Morristown, NJ, where she also works at The College of Saint Elizabeth as a writing instructor and director of the Academic Success Center.
Victor Alcindor is an American poet of Haitian descent who often expresses that his interest in literature, specifically poetry, originated from an intense interest in other people's experiences. His first poetry collection, Stand Mute, published by Get Fresh Books, LLC, contains a series of unapologetic and candid poems that aim to express the good, the bad, and the ugly that people carry, conquer, and experience in their lives. When he is not writing poems, Victor serves as an English teacher at West Orange High School in New Jersey. He completed his undergraduate studies in English and Elementary education at The College of New Jersey. In addition, he holds a master’s degree in criminology from Rutgers University and a doctorate of arts and letters from Drew University. His poems have appeared in HIV Here & Now Anthology, Lunch Ticket, Insanity’s Horse Literary Magazine, The November 3rd Club, and in other places.
Marina Carreira is a queer Luso-American writer and artist from Newark, NJ. “Save The Bathwater” is her debut full-length collection of poems. Published by Get Fresh Books in June 2018, the book takes a critical look at first-generation childhood in the Ironbound, an urban, immigrant section of Newark, NJ, once home to thousands of Portuguese immigrants. Marina holds a BA in English from Montclair State University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Rutgers University. Marina works in higher education as School Office Manager for the College of Education at Kean University and as adjunct professor of English at Essex County College. She is founding member of “Brick City Collective”, a multicultural, multimedia group of Newark-based artists working for social change, and also works as a poet in the Geraldine R. Dodge “Visiting Poets in Schools” program.
